An image on Twitter of disgraced Toronto Mayor Rob Ford working out has sparked more controversy when it appeared that he hired a personal trainer convicted of dealing steroids.

According to TorontoSun.com, Ford did not respond to a request for comment about the photo and he ignored questions about the trainer Wednesday.

Ford is attempting to lose weight in the wake of his ongoing crack cocaine scandal.

Ford's brother, City Councilor Doug Ford, told the Toronto Sun that the steroid dealer, Joe Warmington Valerio Moscariello, is not training the mayor.

Moscariello tweeted the photo Tuesday night of Ford working out.

“Toronto Mayor Rob Ford killing him on cardio today!” the tweet said. “Man on a mission.”

The tweet included a photo of Moscariello with Ford and his driver, Jerry Agyemang, on a treadmill, TorontoSun.com reported.

“Putting Toronto Mayor Rob Ford through a Valerio workout. The BodyPro training system!!!”  Moscariello posted on Instagram.

According to TorontoSun.com, reports connect Moscariello to a November 2005 press release from the Nevada U.S. attorney’s office which says he was sentenced to five months in federal prison and three years of probation for pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids.
