Top Iranian negotiator to meet with UN nuke chief ahead of talks on access to Iranian site

The U.N.'s nuclear agency says a top Iranian nuclear negotiator will hold talks with the agency's head Monday before agency experts meet Iranian diplomats in a renewed push to probe suspicions that Tehran worked on nuclear arms.

The talks Monday have been set for nearly a month. But Iran's decision to send Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was only announced Thursday.

Araghchi's mission in Vienna was unclear. But he played a key role in nuclear talks last week with six world powers that negotiators from both sides have described as encouraging.

Last week's Geneva talks focused on Iranian nuclear programs that can be used both to generate power and make fissile warhead material. They are separate from the Vienna talks.

Iran denies working on or wanting nuclear weapons.
