A 14-year-old girl has died after she was allegedly gang-raped and then set on fire by a man and his two accomplices in India.

The girl’s father said she and her older sister were heading to a farm to use a toilet Tuesday in the northern Orai region when the three dragged her away and gang-raped her, The Times of India reports.

The father’s complaint added that when the girl and her sister told the trio that they would report the rape to authorities, they set her on fire and escaped.

The girl was rushed to a local area hospital but had suffered burns to 80 percent of her body. She died early Wednesday, according to The Times of India.

Police said raids were under way to catch one of the men, identified as Ram Bahadur, and the two others suspected in the rape.
