Colombian searchers say they have recovered the corpse of a young man who died when a 22-story building collapsed on his parking spot. Ten other people remain missing in the ruins in the city of Medellin.
The mayor's office announced the discovery of the body of 23-year-old Juan Esteban Cantor on Tuesday.
His sister Angela tells The Associated Press that while officials had evacuated the apartment building that collapsed on Saturday, they failed to block off the parking lot. She says Cantor lived in a nearby building and had found an open parking space moments before the tower fell. A friend who was with him managed to escape before the debris crushed the car.
She says the building made a sound like "the end of the world" as it fell.
