Britain's economy grew by 0.7 percent in the second quarter compared with the previous three months, up from an initial estimate of 0.6 percent, official data showed on Friday.

"Gross domestic product (GDP) in volume terms was estimated to have increased by 0.7 percent between Q1 2013 and Q2 2013, revised up by 0.1 percentage points from the previously published estimate," the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.
