STOCKHOLM – The lawyer of two Norwegians who have been imprisoned in Congo since 2009 says one of the two, Tjostolv Moland, has died in prison.
Hans Marius Graasvold told the Associated Press Sunday the cause of death wasn't immediately clear.
He said British-Norwegian citizen Joshua French, who was imprisoned alongside Moland in 2009, is upset, but in good health.
Moland and French were convicted in Congo in 2009 of espionage and murder of a local driver and sentenced to death.
They have consistently denied the charges and Norwegian authorities have attempted to have the two transferred to Norway.
