When you wish upon a star, be sure to bring your wallet. Disney has raised its ticket prices to their magical theme parks in California and Orlando.

Disney said in a statement that starting Sunday, a one-day adult ticket to Disneyland will cost $92, a $5 increase. Kids' tickets (ages 3 to 9) also jumped $5, to $87.  The prices apply to either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. Buyers of annual passes will see similar increases.

The admission prices are even higher in Disney World in Orlando.

A one day adult ticket to the Magic Kingdom jumped from $89 to $95, and with tax a stiff $101.18. A one day child's pass (ages 3 to 9) now costs $94.79 from $89.

"Like any business, we evaluate and adjust our pricing based on a variety of factors," Disney spokesman Bryan Malenius said Saturday to the Orlando Sentinel. "A ticket to our theme parks represents a great value, particularly when you look at the breadth and quality of attractions and entertainment we offer and the special moments guests experience with our cast."

Multi-day Disney passes still offer the best deals, but even those prices have risen. A four-day adult pass, to four parks, climbed from $256 to $279 — with tax.
