Shots fired as Indonesia police raid home of suspected militants in Myanmar Embassy plot

Indonesia's anti-terrorism squad has raided the home of suspected militants accused of plotting to blow up the Myanmar Embassy. Multiple shots have been fired, but it is unclear if anyone has been hurt.

Deputy Chief of National Police Lt. Gen. Nanan Sukarna said Wednesday's raid in Cigondewah village in West Java province was aimed at capturing four suspects believed to be involved in the foiled attack in Jakarta.

Sukarna said the suspects have been living in the rented house for the last four months.

Last week, police arrested two suspected militants and seized five homemade bombs. They told authorities they wanted to retaliate against Myanmar for recent attacks on Muslims there.

Police said the men were part of a cell allegedly involved in recent attacks against Indonesian police.
