A prominent Cuban dissident is in Spain seeking support for her group advocating democracy in Cuba. But it's uncertain whether she'll accept the European Union's top human rights award that group members couldn't travel to receive in 2005.
Berta Soler of the Ladies in White dissident group says she's basking in the ability to say what she wants without fearing retribution. Soler was given an exit visa after the Cuban government recently relaxed travel restrictions. She said Tuesday she wants to go to Brussels to accept the EU's Sakharov award but won't unless two other members are allowed to leave Cuba.
The Ladies in White formed a decade ago and successfully pressed for the release of their husbands imprisoned in a 2003 crackdown. The group is now demanding political change.
