Car bomb explodes outside intelligence agency office in eastern Afghanistan, deaths reported

An Afghan official says a car bomb has exploded at the gate of an Afghan intelligence agency building in the eastern city of Jalalabad in Nangarhar province.

Nangarhar government spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai says there are deaths from the Sunday morning blast but said he did not know the exact figure.

The bomb went off near the gate to an office used by the intelligence agency. Abdulzai says the building also was damaged.
