A man suspected of killing a stagehand at a rally following the election of Quebec's new separatist premier says he needs someone to start a website on his behalf to raise funds to fight those who want the French-speaking province to separate from the rest of Canada.

Richard Henry Bain appeared in a Montreal courtroom Friday and claimed a psychiatric report declared him "75 per cent fit" to stand trial. The psychiatric report Bain referred to was not officially filed in court on Friday because Bain wants it written in English.

Denis Blanchette was killed and another worker was wounded in an attack at a Montreal club where the Parti Quebecois Leader Pauline Marois was celebrating her election victory last September.

The case resumes next Friday.
