25 killed in Burma tanker train explosion

State television has reported that 25 people were killed in northern Burma when a derailed tanker train burst into flames as they were trying to skim fuel from the overturned tankers.

The report said 62 people were injured Friday morning after the train hauling seven carriages of gasoline and two of diesel derailed about 500 miles north of Yangon in Sagaing Region. It was travelling from Yangon to the Kachin state capital of Myitkyina.

The cause of the accident was not given.
