Canadian police have arrested 103 people connected to an alleged nationwide narcotics trafficking ring linked to organized crime that made an estimated US$50.13 million (CA$50 million) in six months.

Police in Quebec said Thursday that the well-organized criminal ring includes the Hells Angels motorcycle gang, as well as elements of the Italian and Irish Mafia.

Police say warrants were issued for 128 people and some people remain on the lam.

The accused face charges including drug trafficking, conspiracy and gangsterism.

Police have seized US$225,690 (CA$255,000) in cash, various quantities of marijuana, cocaine and other drugs. They've also seized 13 vehicles and five homes worth about US$1.5 million.

Quebec police spokesman Sgt. Daniel Thibaudeau says an operation of this scope has not been seen in many years.
