A British bride to be was left humiliated when her wedding planner mistakenly sent her an email suggesting she was unsuitable for the five-star hotel she had chosen to host the ceremony.
Pauline Bailey, 27, had chosen the Stoke Park Hotel in Buckinghamshire — which has featured in two Bond movies, "Goldfinger" and "Tomorrow Never Dies" — to wed fiance Paul Carty, 51, according to the Daily Mail.
However, Stoke Park's wedding co-ordinator Michele Connelly forwarded an email in which she was asking a coworker for advice on how to "put the wedding off" because "I don't think they are the type of people that we would want to have at Stoke Park."
Connelly signed off the email with "Help!!!."
Bailey told the London Telegraph that she was "mortified" at the snub.
The former law student said she believed the couple was discriminated against due because of her fiance's age and appearance.
Carty, a Ministry of Defence engineer, has a pierced eyebrow and two earrings.
The couple couple had been prepared to pay 10,000 pounds (about $14,000) to feed and entertain 30 guests at the June wedding.
According to the Daily Mirror, Connelly initially sent Bailey an email that began, "It was lovely to meet you both yesterday," and went through a range of options for the couple, that included a fireworks display on the hotel grounds — for an extra 1,000 pounds.
However, she followed it up with the email intended for her colleague but CC'd to Bailey, who found it "deeply hurtful" and "disgusting."
