News International Reportedly Pays 7 More Phone Hacking Victims

News International has reportedly paid out settlements to seven prominent figures in the wake of the phone hacking scandal at its News of the World tabloid.

Sky News reports that News International has settled claims brought by Princess Diana's former lover James Hewitt, lawmaker Mark Oaten, television presenters Ukrika Jonsson and Abi Titmuss, Paul Dage, who helped rescue victims of the 2005 London transit bombings, as well as theatrical agent Michelle Milburn and Calum Best, the son of soccer legend George Best.

A spokeswoman for News International confirmed seven claims against News Group Newspapers and Glenn Mulcaire have been settled, Sky News reports.

"The claims are Mark Oaten, Ulrika Jonsson, Abi Titmuss, Michelle Milburn, Paul Dadge, James Hewitt and Calum Best," the spokeswoman said. "NGN has agreed to pay appropriate sums by way of compensation and costs, and have expressed regret for the distress caused."
