SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The former police commissioner for Puerto Rico's capital has been indicted on 22 charges of child pornography.
Hilton Cordero Rosario is accused of persuading a friend of his daughter to expose her genitals and of taking pictures of her. The U.S. Attorney's Office said it also has seized a computer with graphic images of other minors.
Cordero was arrested in April and resigned shortly afterward. If he is found guilty, he could face at least 15 years in prison.
Defense attorney Mayra Lopez Mulero could not be immediately reached for comment following Wednesday's indictment. She has previously said prosecutors will not be able to prove the allegations.
