April 29: Kate tries out her new royal wave — and experienced royal William waves too — as the happy newlyweds leave Westminster Abbey after the ceremony.

LONDON -- Royal officials say Prince William and his bride will travel thousands of miles from Canada's north to Southern California on their first official overseas trip.

William and the former Kate Middleton will visit Canada from June 30 to July 8, taking in the country's north, south east and west.

Palace officials on Monday gave details of the couple's itinerary. They will visit Canada's capital, Ottawa; Montreal and Quebec City; Charlottetown and Summerside on Prince Edward Island; the Northwest Territories capital of Yellowknife and the oil boom town of Calgary, Alberta.

The trip to Canada will be followed by a July 8-10 stop in Los Angeles and the surrounding area.

The couple, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, married April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
