Crowds at Ground Zero Celebrate After Announcement of Bin Laden’s Death

Just after the news of Osama bin Laden’s death broke, a throng of people filled the streets of New York City. Even after midnight, the subways bustled with people headed to the place where it all began for many: Ground Zero. People waved American flags, chants like "N-Y-C" and "U-S-A" filled the air, and the crowd sang the “Star-Spangled Banner.” Crowd-filled intersection stoplights changed from green, to yellow, to red as people participated in this historic day.
