He just wanted his seven Beefy Crunch burritos for .99 cents.
That's the explanation given by Brian Tillerson, a manager at the Taco Bell/KFC restaurant, who told the San Antonio Express-News that an enraged customer was angry the Beefy Crunch Burrito had risen in price to $1.49 each.
The San Antonio Police say the customer, Ricardo Jones, 37, was so infuriated he fired an air gun at an employee and later fired an assault rifle at officers before barricading himself into a hotel room.
The Express-News said Jones displayed a semiautomatic assault rifle and pistol while in the restaurant's parking lot, fled as police were called, exchanged shots with three officers who pulled him over, then barricaded himself in his hotel room.
San Antonio police Sgt. Chris Benavides says officers used tear gas Sunday night to force the man from the hotel room after a three-hour standoff. The police have changed the charges from attempted capital murder to two felony counts of aggravated assault.
No one was hurt in any of the exchanges.
“The weird thing is,” Tillerson said to the San Antonio Express News. “He was here a week ago around the same time last Sunday. He yelled at me then too.”
