Police clashed Thursday with demonstrating students outside Greece's parliament in the latest protest against austerity measures.
Police fired tear gas and clashed with youths during the brief incident after some 1,500 people marched though central Athens. No arrests or injuries were reported by police.
Greece avoided bankruptcy in May after it received a rescue loan package from EU partners and the International Monetary Fund, set to reach €110 billion over the next three years. In return, the Socialist government imposed a strict austerity plan, that is facing renewed union opposition.
Unions have called a general strike for Dec. 15, the seventh this year, while student protest groups are staging occupations of university buildings around the country.
Another student rally is planned in Athens Monday, marking two years since the fatal police shooting of a teenage boy that sparked major riots in Greek cities.
