Officials at Santa Anita have canceled racing for Thursday because of torrential rain that has battered Southern California over the past few days.
Officials said Wednesday that they expect another 6 to 8 inches of rain over the next 24 hours, making the synthetic surface at Santa Anita unsuitable for live racing.
Races were also rained out Monday, forcing the Grade 2 San Marcos Handicap to be postponed. That race is tentatively scheduled to be run Jan. 24.
Santa Anita's winter-spring meeting runs through April 18.
