New York Giants first-round draft pick Hakeem Nicks and running back Danny Ware are probably going to be sidelined at least two weeks with injuries sustained in the season opener.

Coach Tom Coughlin indicated Monday that the timeframe was a minimum, and that the injuries might sideline the players longer.

Nicks sprained his left foot in the fourth quarter of the Giants' 23-17 win over the Washington Redskins. He spent the final minutes of the game sitting on the sidelines with crutches at his side. The receiver caught two passes for 18 yards.

Ware, the third back behind Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, dislocated his left elbow returning the opening kickoff. He stood on the sidelines in the second half with his arm in a sling.
