Werder Bremen midfielder Diego is moving to Juventus, the Bundesliga club confirmed Tuesday.

The transfer deal is worth $34.32 million and with bonuses could reach $37.83 million, Bremen said, which would make it the biggest in Bundesliga history.

Diego arrived in Bremen from Porto three seasons ago and developed into the top playmaker in the Bundesliga.

The Brazilian's last game for Werder will be Saturday's German Cup final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Bremen said it was interested in signing Marko Marin from Borussia Moenchengladbach as Diego's successor.

"We are going to see in the next few days what they want for him," Bremen's manager Klaus Allofs said.

At the same time, Werder's 33-year-old captain Frank Baumann said he was ending his career and will work as one of Allofs' assistants.
