Norway's Ola Vigen Hattestad has won a men's classic sprint for his sixth World Cup victory of the season.

Petra Majdic of Slovenia won the women's sprint ahead of Slovakia's Alena Prochazkova of Slovakia and Justina Kowalczyk of Poland on Thursday.

Hattestad edged countryman Petter Northug, who closed in on Switzerland's Dario Cologna at the top of the overall standings. Norway grabbed all podium spots as John Kristian Dahl finished third.

Cologna finished fifth, behind Japan's Yuichi Onda, and has a 54-point lead over Northug in the overall World Cup standings.
