New Orleans defeats Louisiana-Lafayette 61-58

NEW ORLEANS —  Kendall Dykes scored nine of his game-high 20 points in the final 6:29, leading New Orleans to a 61-58 comeback victory over Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday night.

T.J Worley added 14 points and Jaroslav Tyrna had 12 for the Privateers (7-8, 3-2 Sun Belt Conference).

Chris Gradnigo scored 14 points for Louisiana-Lafayette (5-9, 2-2), which led 51-43 after Randell Daigle's jumper with about seven minutes left. Daigle and Travis Bureau each scored 12 for the Ragin' Cajuns.

During the final four minutes, Dykes converted a fast-break layup, a baseline jumper and two free throws during an 8-0 run that put New Orleans ahead 58-53 with 44.7 seconds to go.

The Privateers outscored Louisiana-Lafayette 26-4 from the free-throw line.
