Bolt and Gay to race in 100 meters at NY track meet

NEW YORK World champion Tyson Gay will face Usain Bolt in a 100-meter showdown at the Reebok Grand Prix on May 31 on Randall's Island in New York.
Bolt ran the second-fastest 100 in history last weekend in Kingston, Jamaica. His time of 9.76 seconds was 0.02 off the world record held by Jamaican compatriot Asafa Powell, who is sidelined with an injury.
Gay defeated Powell to win the 100 title at last year's world championships in Osaka, Japan, then beat Bolt to take the 200 crown. Gay won on Randall's Island last year in 9.76 seconds, which would have broken the world record at the time but was not recognized because of a tailwind barely over the legal limit.
