Cincinnati Reds star Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 595th career home run Tuesday night, connecting for a two-run shot off the Chicago Cubs' Ryan Dempster in the third inning.

It was second homer of the season for Griffey, who is sixth on the career list behind Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714), Willie Mays (660) and Sammy Sosa (609).
