Hurricane Matthew has killed more than 100 people throughout the Caribbean on its path toward the United States.
At one point, Matthew was a Category 5 hurricane, the first in the Atlantic basin since Felix in 2007.
The storm dramatically impacted Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
According to Reuters, about 80 percent of homes in Haiti's southwestern Sud Department were damaged.
"It's the worst hurricane that I've seen during my life. It destroyed schools, roads, other structures," Fidèle Nicolas, a civil protection official in Nippes, Haiti, told the Associated Press.
