A powerful tornado caused widespread damage across the town of Eureka, Kansas, on Thursday night, according to local officials.
Early reports stated that a hospital and nursing home were directly hit by the tornado, but both structures may not be as badly damaged as previously reported, according to KSN-TV.
Widespread tree and power line damage is making it difficult for emergency crews to reach the worst hit areas.
