Dry and mild weekend awaits much of Germany

Following several days of cool and damp weather, a generally dry and mild weekend is forecast across Germany.

While it will not be as warm as last weekend which featured the highest temperatures of the year so far, it will be comfortable with at least some sunshine each day.

A few spotty showers are possible in western and northwestern Germany, with the greatest threat Saturday night and Sunday morning. Areas that could see a shower include Cologne and Dusseldorf. These showers are expected to last 20 minutes or less.

Following a cloudy and cool day on Friday, drier and milder weather is expected on Saturday and Sunday for the final days of the Nuremberg Spring Festival.

Dry and milder weather is also expected for Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, allowing people to get outdoors to enjoy the weekend.

High temperatures on Saturday will range from 11-14 C (52-57 F) with temperatures closer to 16 C (60 F) on Sunday.

The weather will turn more unsettled again early next week as the threat for rain returns to western Germany on Monday. Rain will then sweep the country from Tuesday into Thursday.
