Chicago: City to Dry Out Before Wet Halloween

After a wet start to the week, the city will dry out briefly through Friday.

Following afternoon showers on Wednesday, rain will begin to taper off in the Chicago area.

Those looking for a chance to get outdoors will have plenty of opportunity through the rest of the workweek, with sunshine creeping back in on Friday.

Temperatures will remain mild, in the 50s F, for much of the week.

Wet weather will return just in time to spoil Halloween festivities on Saturday. Cloudy and rainy conditions will span most of the day before coming to an end sometime in the evening hours.

"It's going to be a close call," AccuWeather Meteorologist Maggie Samuhels said. Trick-or-treaters may luck out but should plan to pack an umbrella or other rain gear just in case, she said.

Sunday will be the nicest day of the week, with sunshine in the offing and temperatures in the low 60s.
