High pressure will shape a fair latter half of the week in most of the United Kingdom following early week wet weather.
Meanwhile, the post-tropical remnant of Joaquin will take a southern track, landing ultimately in Portugal and northwestern Spain at the end of the week.
Thursday and Friday, the vast majority of England, Wales and even Scotland will have essentially rainless weather under bright to sunny spells. A few places will see the best of sunshine. At the same time, a few showery outbreaks will be possible in western Scotland and north west England.
Daytime highs will range mostly from 13 C to 17 C, or not far from what is normal for the time of year.
Saturday and Sunday, high pressure east of the British Isles will steer Atlantic showers northward, confining them to western Ireland through western Scotland.
