Temperatures have actually been a few degrees above normal across the UK over the past few days though parts of Scotland and Ireland have fallen a bit shy of average temperatures.
However, these temperatures are much cooler than what the rest of Europe is experiencing. While record heat with temperatures above 35 C is expected in France and Germany, temperatures below 25 will be common across the UK through the weekend.
England will have the driest and warmest weather, especially the southeast, through the weekend, but temperatures will struggle to reach 20, and even 15 in some cases, across Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
Largely dry weather is expected across the UK on Friday and Saturday; however, there will be an odd shower or two across Wales and Scotland.
A strong cold front will approach from the west on Saturday. Rain will spread across most of the UK Saturday night and Sunday. Rainfall totals will be as much as 10-20 mm. However, southeastern England, including London, may get very little rainfall until early next week.
