Dry weekend weather will continue into the early part of this week before showers and thunderstorms return by Wednesday.
Sandwiched between two frontal boundaries, the Atlanta region will enjoy dry weather to start the week. This dry weather is perfect for the baseball fans going to Turner Field to see the Braves take on the San Francisco Giants on Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday afternoon will present an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Heat will be seasonable with a high in the low 90s, but humidity will be on the rise. Those who will be out and about in the city on Wednesday will want to bring an umbrella in preparation for any afternoon storms.
A more likely period of showers and thunderstorms is in store for Thursday and Friday.
"A series of systems approaching from the north and west late in the week will interact with the warm, humid air mass in place to set off showers and storms around the area," describes AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski.
Otherwise, there will be periods of sunshine on Thursday and Friday with high temperatures in the upper 80s.
