A pattern of above-average temperatures will enter the Atlanta metropolitan area as we head into the weekend and into the early part of the new workweek.
High temperatures will climb into the low to mid-80s F through Sunday with partly sunny skies during the afternoon hours. The average high for Atlanta this time of year is 89 F.
These temperatures paired with rising humidity levels with make conditions very muggy and uncomfortable, sending AccuWeather.com RealFeel® Temperatures into the low 100s F.
"Residents living in the area shouldn't rule out the chance of a thunderstorm during the evening and late-night hours," AccuWeather Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel said.
Samuhel also stated that these storms will be mostly hit or miss and widely separated throughout the region. Nighttime lows are expected to remain relatively mild with the temperature dropping into the low 70s. The average low for Atlanta in mid-July is 71 F.
Baseball fans heading to Turner Field this weekend will need to wear light-colored clothing and stay hydrated. Fans should also keep an eye on the skies and rain gear may also be needed if there happens to be a pop-up shower or thunderstorm.
Conditions will remain warm to hot and humid to start the new workweek with high temperatures hovering around 95 F through Tuesday.
