Temperatures in the Minneapolis area will be above average for most of the weekend and into the early part of the workweek.
Sunshine will prevail on Friday with highs in the mid- to upper 80s F with partly to mostly sunny skies. The average high for Minneapolis this time of year is 84 F.
Heading into Saturday, cloud cover will increase keeping temperatures close to 80 F mark, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel.
Residents should keep an umbrella handy on Saturday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours as a shower or thunderstorm is expected to impact the region.
"Conditions are expected to dry out on Sunday as a warm front will pass over the region," Samuhel said.
The daytime high on Sunday is expected to be in the upper 80s F with several spots climbing past the 90 degrees Fahrenheit mark.
Fans heading to Target Field to catch the Twins face off against the Tigers this weekend should expect favorable conditions for baseball but should keep a close eye on the sky especially on Saturday.
The threat for a thunderstorm will return to start the workweek with daytime highs remaining above average in the upper 80s F.
