Showers and Storms to Pester Harrisburg Early This Week

Showers and storms will make a quick return to the Harrisburg area following a dry end to the weekend.

Showers and thunderstorms will be around on both Monday and Tuesday, but most of each day should be rain-free.

People with outdoor activities shouldn't have to cancel their plans, but may have to work around the brief shower activity.

More of the same can be expected through the middle of the week as an approaching front delivers more intermittent showers and storms to Harrisburg.

Temperatures each afternoon through Wednesday are forecast to climb into the 80s, right around normal for the start of July.

This week's rain will continue to add to the impressive rainfall total in the city dating back to June 1.

More than 10 inches of rain has fallen in Harrisburg since the start of June, more than 250 percent of what the city typically receives in the same time frame.

This period of wet weather followed an abnormally dry May.
