Unsettled, Cooler Weather Ahead for Detroit

Cool, rainy weather may put a damper on outdoor plans through the weekend in the Detroit area.

Daytime highs will be in the low 70s through the weekend, about 8 to 10 degrees below normal for this time in the Detroit area.

Temperatures will be cooler as the jet stream dives southward across the eastern half of the nation, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Carl Erickson said.

"This will also keep the weather unsettled at times with a chance for showers and a thunderstorm, especially on [Saturday] and again on Sunday," Erickson said.

The unsettled conditions will continue into early next week with a chance of rain on Monday and Tuesday, with Tuesday being the start of an interleague series between the Tigers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
