Calmer weather is in store for much of the East early this week as leaf-peepers head out to take in autumn's colorful display.
Parts of the Northeast are in full color as the peak of foliage arrives.
According to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Tom Kines, this week will provide favorable conditions until winds and some rain move in late in the week.
"The rain will probably be accompanied by wind. The combination of heavy rain and gusty winds will likely knock a lot of the leaves off the trees, especially in those areas at or near peak color," he said.
Besides a parade of storms that will spread rain across the Northwest this week, much of the interior West and Southwest will have dry weather for leaf-peeping.
