Southeastern Europe will get dowsed with persistent rain and thunderstorms through Friday night, threatening flooding and mudslides.
A weak low pressure moving through the area will bring a wave of showers and thunderstorms. Starting Thursday night, thunderstorms will spread from southern Albania and western Greece northeastward into Macedonia, the rest of Greece and southern Bulgaria through the day on Friday.
Some of the thunderstorms and periods of rain will be heavy enough to cause flooding across these areas. The higher terrain of the Balkan Mountains could receive enough rain to cause mudslides.
Into Saturday, this moisture will move across western Turkey and the Black Sea for the start of the weekend.
