Divers have recovered the body of a missing sheriff's deputy in Austin, Texas, the Associated Press reports.
Around 2 p.m. CDT on Friday, the body of Senior Deputy Jessica Hollis, 35, was found in Lake Austin, not far from the mouth of the creek wher her patrol car was found, according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office.
Hollis, who had been checking low-water crossings, radioed for assistance around 2 a.m. local time on Thursday after she became trapped in flood waters.
A sheriff's spokesman told the AP that the deputy is believed to have been swept into a low-water crossing by the flooding.
The search for Hollis included contributions from federal, state, and local public safety agencies from across Travis County and Texas Search and Rescue.
