A deadly landslide flattened much of a small town in Guizhou province, China, Wednesday night.
Recent rains likely triggered the landslide which destroyed 77 homes in the village of Yingping.
Thus far, six people have been confirmed dead; however, fears are that number will rise as more than 20 people remain missing according to the Associated Press.
Another 21 people were injured during the landslide which occurred during the middle of the night.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms through Saturday will hamper rescue and recovery efforts at times. Drier weather is then expected from Sunday into early next week.
