Heat will build in Atlanta by midweek with a return of highs in 90s.
First, highs will climb near normal in the mid- to upper 80s on Monday and Tuesday. There will be a mix of sun and clouds with the chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening both days.
An area of high pressure will form over the southern states by midweek, and it will pump heat and humidity in from the Gulf of Mexico.
Highs will climb into the mid-90s, reaching a bit above the normal high of 88 F, from Wednesday straight into late-week and the weekend. With humidity factored in, AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures will reach into the 100s during the afternoon hours each day.
