A possible tornado touched down and wreaked havoc at Cherrystone Campground in Northampton County, Virginia, on Thursday morning, with injuries reported.

Emergency managers reported the possible tornado overturned RV campers at 8:40 a.m. EDT Thursday.
The same severe storm produced quarter-sized hail in the area, according to NWS via broadcast media.
"Just lived through a tornado. Children are missing. People are dead. Trees are down. Campers are flipped," Jordan Bertok tweeted from the scene along with photos of the damage.
"Spotty showers will move through campgrounds into the midday hours as search and rescue operations continue," AccuWeather Meteorologist Courtney Spamer said. "Thunderstorms may fire up during the afternoon."
