Chicago: Mix of Sun, Rain Heading Into Weekend

After a rainy Wednesday afternoon, Chicago is looking at sunnier skies before heading into the weekend.

The rain will taper off before the evening commute with cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-50s as night falls.

Thursday will be pleasant with temperatures reaching towards the high 60s and sunshine throughout the day. Friday will see similar weather with slightly higher temperatures reaching the low 70s.

Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low 70s before a thunderstorm moves in during the evening.

According to David Samuhel, meteorologist, the wind will have an impact on temperatures for the weekend.

"The city will still be pretty cool; there'll be a big difference from the lakefront to the inland areas," he said.

The rain and thunderstorms will persist into Sunday with temperatures in the low 70s and mostly cloudy skies.
