The first in a series of storm systems brought rain and strong winds to Ireland and the United Kingdom Monday night and Tuesday while showers and gusty winds extended southward across France and northern Spain.
A few showers will continue across France as well as Scotland on Wednesday, but overall a more tranquil day is expected for most areas.
By late in the day on Wednesday a cold front will approach Ireland bringing rain to the west by the evening.
This front will blast across Ireland and the United Kingdom on Wednesday night bringing a period of strong to locally damaging winds along with downpours.
The front will also bring rainfall to northwest France later Wednesday night before spreading across much of France and into northern Spain during the day on Thursday.
Behind the front, gusty winds will continue across Ireland and the United Kingdom on Thursday with scattered showers.
Yet another storm will arrive Thursday night with more rain expected in southern Ireland, Wales and southern England, spreading into northern France overnight.
This storm will continue to produce widespread rain across England and France on Friday along with locally strong winds.
The storm will then stall over western Europe this weekend leading to more unsettled weather from Ireland and the United Kingdom through France and Spain.
This unsettled weather will also spread into Italy and much central Europe throughout the weekend.
