After a storm system at midweek halted traffic from parts of Texas to Georgia, another system could be heading to the area to end the weekend.
While Friday will feature mostly sunny skies and a few scattered clouds, cloud coverage will increase significantly for Saturday.
By Sunday, there will be a strong chance for rain, possible changing over to some sleet or snow in the evening hours.
High temperatures will drop steadily through the course of the weekend. Friday's highs in the lower 70s will give way to the upper 60s on Saturday before hovering below 40 on Sunday. Overnight low temperatures will be in the 50s for Friday before dropping nearly 20 degrees on Saturday and falling below the freezing mark Sunday night. Sunday's RealFeel® temperatures could be up to 10 degrees lower than the actual temperatures.
Winds will be gusty for the duration of the weekend, in the middle-teen range with gusts up to 20 mph.
The start of the next workweek will continue the wet and cloudy pattern .
