Week in Photos: From Warmth, Wildfires to Wintry Weather

Wintry weather took the stage for most of this week, as snow fell over the East, allowing Boston to set a new daily accumulation record and New York City to receive its fourth measurable snowfall of the season.

Around the middle of the week, warmth surged through parts of the country, creating foggy conditions for many.

Meanwhile, in California, warm air and insufficient precipitation have left the state ripe for fire danger. On Dec. 16, a blaze ignited in Big Sur, consuming more than a dozen houses.
