Two Deaths Attributed to Flooding in Italy

Torrential rains cause both death and mass evacuations across Italy and now head to the Middle East.

Even more steady rain brought 25-50 mm (1-3 inches) over Sardinia to start off the week, following more than 50 mm (3 inches) in some places in Italy the previous week.

The continuous rain has caused flooding across central and southern Italy, which ultimately resulted in two deaths.

One woman drowned after being trapped in her car in a flooded underpass. A pine tree fell across a highway and killed the motorist, according to global post.

More that 1,500 people have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the flooding.

Luckily, this storm is pushing out of the area with dry weather in place through late week. However, the storm is heading eastward, bringing the heavy rain into the Middle East.

In addition to the rounds of rain, the mountains in northwestern Iran will get snow. Both will cause flooding.
