Cooler Weekend in Store for DC

A series of cold fronts moving through the Northeast will usher cooler air across the Washington, D.C., area this weekend.

The first of these cold fronts moved through the Friday morning, accompanied by gusty winds that brought down several trees and power lines across the area.

Winds have already started to subside, but another cold front will bring a chilly breeze to the Washington, D.C., area Saturday night and into Sunday.

While winds are not expected to be as strong with this second front, the chilly breeze behind it will make the AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures stay in the upper 40s through much of Sunday.

This will make for a chilly day, especially for folks that plan on tailgating before the Washington Redskins game Sunday when they host the San Diego Chargers.

This cooler air will remain in place into the start of next week with temperatures running in the upper 40s, more than 10 degrees below normal.
